Question: I live and Houston Texas and I have a friend that lives in Escondido California, who owes me $1,200. I sent her the money through Western Union and by making deposits in her bank account. I didn’t make her sign a note or contract but I have emails that she sent asking to borrow the money and admitting to owing me money which she now says she can’t pay. My question is, in which state do I file a small claim, here in Texas or in California?
